This is Actually our first time in Mindanao, So I have to do research and use google maps as guides because I am a little bit nervous. I thought Mindanao is a dangerous place to explore especially if you are alone as what we have heared in Media, but definetely not. It’s safer than Mnl. Let’s Explore Northern Mindanao.

Day 01: MNL-CGY via Cebu Pacific Air.

Travel to Jollibee Divisoria infront of BDO via 3STAR EXPRESS ——–200.00

Dont worry, upon arrival at the airport, there are alot of PUVs bound to any part of CDO even in nearby provinces like Iligan, Pagadian and Ozamis.

Since its too early, we decided na yung naghatid sa amin don sya na din magsundo sa amin pabalik nang Agora. Para hinde na hassle maghintay nang massakyan from our hotel. Sawa na po kase akong maghintay.

Travel to Westbound Intergrated Bus Terminal In Bulua via jeepney—-12.00

4:30AM: ETD TO ILIGAN CITY (2hrs)——115.00 Via Super 5 bus.

6:30AM: ETA ILIGAN CITY

Jeep to BURU-UN going Ma. Cristina Falls (NPS)——13.00

Actually, pagdating namin sa Terminal, walang jeep going Buru-un, may mga lumapit na habal habal na nag ooffer nang tour papunta sa tatlong falls, kaya lang 1000 daw roundtrip. OMG! Hahaha. Grave bes, mag isip ka muna kundi tatagain ka sa presyo. Always ask sa mga security na nandon for better and cheaper option. They said we should hire in a jeep going to the city for 7pes then from the City, look for a jeepney bound for Buru-un.

Thats a better option isn’t? Since maaga naman we took that option.

Suprisingly, pagdating namn sa City, Fiesta pala sa Lugar nila. Its DIYANDI Festival! Viva San Miguel! The surroundings is full of banderitas and costumes during street dance! Its so nice to witnessed this kind of celebration in Iligan.

Medyo nahirapan kaming maghanap nang jeep papuntang Buruun dahil sa fiesta pero sabi nga Patience is a virtue! Hahaha

Tell the driver to drop you at the corner going Ma. Cristina falls. Alight after the steel bridge then cross the road to the entrance of NPC Nature Park.

Ma. Cristina Falls Entrance fee–35.00

From the entrance of NPC, Habal habal driver offered 440/motor going to:

– Ma. cristina falls

– Mimbalot falls- no entrance fee

– Tinago falls 75.00 for the life vest. 75.00 for the table 50.00 entrance fee then kayo na bahalang magbigay sa guide na sasama sa inyo.

Going to Marawi, Lanao Del Sur.

From Tinago falls, Habal Habal To terminal to marawi-150.00/motor.

Southbound Terminal to MARAWI–50.00

The jeepney driver offered to wait us going back to the City for 600.00/4pax.

We took that offer for security purposes since we are not familiar with the place. He also help us in asking military’s permission to take some pictures near ground zero.

To see Marawi personally may break your heart and flashback all the events happened here during the war. There are things that I choose not to capture in my camera. Real stories were told by the guide thats makes you realize how Marawi suffered and how many lives were sacrificed.

One of the most unforgettable journey of my life.
